The Z400 iQ is our latest innovation in the heat pump category and boasts a range of great features and benefits. Suitable for use in all seasons, from intensive defrosting to cooling the pool, the Z400 iQ is a fantastic mid-sized residential pool heater that is built to last.
This guide introduces you to the Z400 and walks you through basic operations such as powering on, unlocking the keyboard, adjusting temperature and more.
It is vital to ensure there are no tools or other foreign objects left in the machine after installation and that the panel that provides access to the wiring terminals has been put back in place.
Make sure to open the inlet valve to allow sufficient water through the pump and open the outlet valve completely to allow water to return to the system.

Powering On:
1. Check that the hydraulic connections are correctly tightened and that there are no leaks.
2. Check that the appliance is stable.
3. Turn on the water flow (by activating filtration).
4. Ensure Inlet and Outlet valves are sufficiently open.
5. Press the power button for 2 seconds until the software version number displays on the screen for 4 seconds.
6. The last water temperature measured will then be displayed. This value varies depending on the last temperature recorded during the last connection. If no water flow was present during the last connection, the screen will display the value 0.
Locking & Unlocking Keyboard:
To lock or unlock the keypad, press and hold the ˄ and ˅ simultaneously for 3 seconds until the LOC or ULOC screen displays.
Adjusting the temperature Setpoint:
Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to increase or decrease the setpoint temperature in 0.5 °C increments. While increasing or decreasing the setpoint, the number on the screen will flash until confirmed.
Press the SET key to confirm the desired temperature.
The settings screen is automatically exited after 3 seconds of inactivity on the keypad or by pressing and releasing the power button.
Activating & Deactivating "Silence" Mode:
Silence mode is used to reduce the noise level emitted by the heat pump. The appliance will operate for a longer period of time only with less power and noise.
There are 2 ways to activate "silence" mode:
Method 1:
Press and release the "SET" button.
Method 2:
Press and hold "SET".
Press ˄ or ˅ to display "ECO".
Press and release "SET".
Activating/Deactivating "Cold" Mode:
Activation of cold mode allows the machine’s cycle to be automatically reversed to cool the pool water when it exceeds the setpoint temperature by more than 2°C.
Example: If the setpoint is set to 23°C and the current water temperature is 25°C, the device will automatically reverse to cool the pool water.
When the cold mode is activated, the LED display on the front of the device will turn a solid blue.
To activate Cold mode:
Press and hold the SET button.
Press the arrow keys to display COOL.
Press and release the Set button to Activate/Deactivate "Cold" mode.
Press the power button to return to the home screen. or wait 60 seconds for it to return automatically.
NOTE: Cold mode does not allow cooling to be activated manually. For immediate activation, activate Cold mode, then return to the main screen and lower the setpoint temperature to at least 2 degrees below the measured water temperature.
