Cartridge Filters

A pool cartridge filter is a cylindrical filter that contains a pleated filter element, typically crafted from materials such as paper, cotton or polyester, designed to sift out particles and impurities from your pool effectively.

Cartridge pool filters operate differently from sand filters. Sand filters use depth filtering, where particles are trapped in a path. On the other hand, cartridge filters use surface filtering, where particles remain on the filter's surface, meaning that instead of backwashing to remove debris, the pleated filter is removed from the tank and cleaned using a hose.

Pool cartridge filters are highly effective at capturing particles as small as 10-20 microns, significantly improving compared to the 20-40 microns retained by sand filters. These filters are particularly efficient at lower pump speeds, require less maintenance and use less water to clean, making them a popular choice for many pool owners.
