The pool pump draws water from your pool into the skimmer box,
where it's passed through a fine strainer basket the hair and lint
pot and onto the impeller. The water is then returned to the
pool by the pool return lines.

It's important to size your pool pump correctly. This will ensure
that your pool runs at an optimum level, resulting in fewer
problems, easier maintenance, lower energy costs and longer
equipment life.
There are 4 questions you need to answer before speaking to your
pool professional to enable them to recommend a pool pump suitable
for your needs:
- What's the Total Pool Volume? Calculate, in
metres (Width x Length x Average Depth) x 1000.
- How often do you want to circulate the water -
every 4 or 8 hours?
- Will you be using any water features or in-floor
cleaning systems?
- What is the distance from the pool to where the pool
pump will be located?

performance.

The hair and lint pot needs to be emptied and cleaned on a regular
basis throughout the swimming season. If it's allowed to clog
up and block the water flow, the seals will crack and the motor
burn out.
