About Balancers
Maintaining the correct pool water balance in your swimming pool not only provides you with safe and sparkling water it also prolongs the life of your pool's surfaces and pool equipment.
Left unbalanced, pool water can literally dissolve your pool plumbing and equipment. It will also lead to further problems in your pool such as scale formation, algae problems, staining of your pool's surfaces and cloudy pool water.
There are four factors that contribute to water balance they are total alkalinity, pH, calcium hardness and temperature.
It is imperative that you or your pool professional test these factors on a regular basis. Pools can look clean and clear however only correct testing can show whether problems are about to arise.
We recommend that you monitor chlorine and pH every few days during the peak of the season and once a week during winter when the pool is not being used.
Every fortnight in summer and once a month in winter you should take a water sample to your pool professional to test for total alkalinity, calcium hardness and salt levels (if you have a salt chlorine generator).
Remember that any treatment to your pool water will not be effective if your water is not balanced.
Zodiac PQ has a complete range of products to keep all of your water balance factors under control. We recommend that you obtain advice from your Zodiac Pool Professional before adding any treatment to your pool or spa.
